Terms of use
The rules for using Salvo: who may open an account, how sending must behave, what the wallet and credits mean, what you may do with data you export, and what happens when either side wants to stop.

1.The agreement
These terms are a contract between Salvo GTM Ltd (“Salvo”, “we”, “us”) and the organisation that opens a workspace (“you”, “Customer”). They apply the moment you create an account, and they apply to every person you invite into it.
If you have signed a separate order form or master agreement with us, that document wins wherever the two conflict. Our data processing agreement is incorporated by reference and governs personal data you upload.
2.Accounts and workspaces
- (a)You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract on behalf of your organisation. Workspaces are for organisations, not for consumers.
- (b)Registration details must be accurate and kept current, including the billing contact and the address used on invoices.
- (c)You are responsible for everything done under your workspace, including by teammates you invite and by any API key you issue. Keep credentials secret and rotate them when someone leaves.
- (d)Workspace owners can add, restrict and remove members. Members can see workspace data appropriate to their role; assume anything in the workspace is visible to your colleagues.
- (e)Tell us promptly at the security address below if you believe an account has been compromised. We may suspend access while we investigate.
3.What the service does
Salvo researches markets, builds target lists from our database, writes and sends outbound email from infrastructure we manage, classifies replies, drafts answers and books meetings. It also provides search, enrichment and export tooling over that database.
- (a)The service is provided as a subscription and as metered usage, not as a licence to install software.
- (b)We improve, change and occasionally retire features. We give at least 30 days’ notice before removing a feature you actively use, and we will not remove one mid-contract in a way that guts what you paid for.
- (c)Beta features are labelled as such. They may change or disappear without notice and are excluded from any service commitment.
- (d)Nothing in the service is a guarantee of a commercial result. We do not promise a reply rate, a meeting count or a pipeline number, and no estimate shown in the product is a warranty.
4.Acceptable use of sending
This section is the one that matters most. Sending infrastructure is shared, so behaviour that damages it damages every other customer. Breach of this section is the one case where we suspend first and discuss after.
You will not:
- (a)Upload purchased, rented, scraped-from-a-competitor or otherwise unlawfully obtained contact lists. Lists you import must be data you collected yourself or licensed with the right to use it for outbound contact.
- (b)Falsify or obscure the sender. From names, reply-to addresses, domains and routing headers must identify the real sender, and subject lines must describe the message honestly.
- (c)Send to anyone who has opted out, bounced hard, or complained — through us or anywhere else. Suppression is enforced by the platform and you will not attempt to work around it.
- (d)Strip, hide, obfuscate or disable the opt-out mechanism in any message the platform sends.
- (e)Send to consumers, to personal email addresses, or into markets where your sending would need consent you do not hold.
- (f)Use the service for content we do not carry: adult material, gambling, high-risk financial and loan offers, cryptocurrency promotion, pharmaceuticals, surveillance products, or anything unlawful, deceptive, harassing or hateful.
- (g)Impersonate another organisation, imply an endorsement or affiliation you do not have, or represent AI-drafted messages as coming from a person who does not exist at your company.
- (h)Attempt to defeat rate limits, credit metering or platform quotas, run load or penetration tests without written permission, or resell access to the service.
We monitor bounce, complaint and spam-trap rates continuously. A campaign that crosses a threshold is paused automatically and you will be told why. Repeated or deliberate breaches end the agreement, and where we have been damaged we will say so plainly rather than quietly absorb it.
5.Your content and your lists
- (a)You keep ownership of everything you upload, write or generate in your workspace, including lists, campaign copy and replies you receive.
- (b)You grant us a limited licence to host, process and transmit that content solely to run the service for you — including sending it to our sub-processors and to the language model that drafts on your behalf.
- (c)We do not train public models on your content, we do not sell it, and we do not use one customer’s replies to write another customer’s emails.
- (d)You warrant that you have the right to upload what you upload, and that contacting the people on your lists is lawful in their jurisdiction.
- (e)We may use aggregated, de-identified statistics — deliverability rates, model performance, feature usage — to improve the service. Nothing in those statistics identifies you, your customers or your prospects.
6.Database licence and permitted use of exports
Records you view, reveal or export from our database are licensed, not sold. The licence is worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable and limited to your own organisation.
You may:
- (a)Use exported records for your own sales, marketing, recruitment, research and analysis.
- (b)Load them into your own CRM, warehouse or enrichment pipeline, and keep the exported file after the subscription ends, subject to the restrictions below.
- (c)Share them internally, including with an agency acting for you, provided that agency is bound to these restrictions.
You may not:
- (a)Resell, sublicense, publish or otherwise redistribute the records, in whole or in part, whether or not enriched or merged with other data.
- (b)Use them to build, train or improve a product that competes with our database or search, or as training data for a model you publish, sell or make publicly available.
- (c)Systematically re-extract or re-utilise substantial parts of the database, including through automated collection outside the documented API and its rate limits.
- (d)Remove or alter provenance columns, or represent our data as your own proprietary dataset to a third party.
Once records land in your systems you become their controller. Your own retention schedule, notice obligations and duty to honour objections apply. Suppressions we record do not propagate to a copy you already took, so refresh exports rather than treating them as permanent. On termination for breach of this section, you must delete exported records within 30 days and confirm deletion in writing if we ask.
7.Wallet, credits, payment and expiry
- (a)Sending is metered from a prepaid wallet at $0.03 per email handed to a mailbox for delivery, including follow-ups and replies the agent sends for you. Hard bounces are credited back automatically.
- (b)Data usage is metered in credits at 100 credits per US dollar. Credits are deducted only when a record is actually returned to you.
- (c)Wallet balance does not expire while the account is open. Credits carry the validity period of the plan that issued them, shown on the pricing page and on your invoice, and unused credits lapse at the end of that period.
- (d)Subscription fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except as stated below. Metered usage is charged as incurred, or drawn from the prepaid balance.
- (e)Wallet top-ups are refundable pro rata on the unused balance for 30 days. Credit plans are refundable within 14 days if under 10% of the credits have been used. Beyond that, unused balances are not refundable.
- (f)Prices exclude VAT, sales tax and equivalents, which are added where applicable. Provide a valid tax identifier if you are entitled to a reverse charge.
- (g)If a payment fails we retry, then notify the billing contact, then pause metered features after seven days. We do not delete data for non-payment for at least 30 days.
- (h)We may change prices with 30 days’ notice. Changes never apply to a term you have already paid for, and never to credits already issued.
8.AI-generated content
The service drafts research summaries, emails and replies using language models. That is the product, and it comes with an obligation you cannot delegate to us.
- (a)Generated text can be wrong, out of date or oddly phrased. You are responsible for everything sent from your workspace, whether or not a human read it first.
- (b)Approval controls exist — hold-for-review, per-campaign approval, restricted claims lists. Turning them off is a choice you make.
- (c)Do not use the service to generate claims about a product you cannot substantiate, or statements about a third party you cannot support.
- (d)As between us, output generated for your workspace is yours. Similar output may be generated for others; we make no exclusivity claim over generated text.
9.Privacy and data protection
Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why. For personal data you upload or generate in your workspace, you are the controller and we are your processor under the data processing agreement, which includes the EU standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum.
For the business contact database we compile, we are the controller. Our compliance FAQ sets out the lawful basis, sources, retention and how we handle requests from data subjects.
10.Confidentiality
Each party may receive non-public information from the other. Neither will use it except to perform this agreement, nor disclose it except to staff and advisers who need it and are bound to equivalent obligations. This does not cover information that is public through no fault of the receiver, was already known, is independently developed, or must be disclosed by law — and where disclosure is legally compelled, the receiver will give notice where it is lawful to do so.
11.Intellectual property
We own the service, the software, the models we fine-tune, the database structure and everything we create in delivering it, including all improvements. You own your content and your exported records under the licence above. Feedback you send us may be used freely and without obligation, which is our polite way of saying good suggestions get built without a royalty attached.
12.Warranties and disclaimers
We warrant that we will provide the service with reasonable skill and care, and that we have the right to license the database as described.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every record is accurate or current, that any email will reach an inbox, or that any commercial outcome will follow. Contact data describes the world as we last observed it, and the world moves faster than any refresh cycle.
13.Limitation of liability
- (a)Neither party excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- (b)Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost pipeline, lost goodwill or lost data, however arising.
- (c)Each party’s total liability under this agreement is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
- (d)Your obligation to pay fees already incurred, and your liability for breach of the acceptable use and data licence sections, sit outside that cap.
14.Indemnities
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content, your lists, your use of exported data, or your breach of the acceptable use section. We will defend and indemnify you against third-party claims that the service as provided by us infringes their intellectual property rights, provided you tell us promptly and let us control the defence.
15.Suspension and termination
- (a)You may stop at any time. Cancel from the billing screen; a monthly term ends at the end of the paid period and an annual term at the end of the year already paid for.
- (b)We may suspend immediately, without notice, where sending behaviour threatens the deliverability of shared infrastructure, where we are legally required to, or where use is manifestly unlawful. We will tell you why as soon as we suspend.
- (c)Either party may terminate for a material breach that is not fixed within 30 days of written notice, or immediately on the other’s insolvency.
- (d)On termination we keep your workspace data available for export for 30 days, then delete it on the schedule in the compliance FAQ. Ask before the 30 days are up if you need longer.
- (e)Sections on payment for usage already incurred, the data licence restrictions, confidentiality, liability and governing law survive termination.
16.Changes to these terms
We update these terms as the product changes. For a material change we give 30 days’ notice by email to the workspace owner and in the product, and the change takes effect at your next renewal. If you do not accept it, stop using the service before then and we will refund any unused prepaid balance for the remaining term. Non-material changes — clarifications, typos, a new address — take effect on publication.
17.Governing law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of London have exclusive jurisdiction. Before filing anything, both parties agree to spend 30 days trying to resolve the dispute with a senior person from each side on the same call. Nothing prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief.
